My practice explores how digital fabrication can be used not simply to reproduce objects, but to imagine new forms of artificial life. Working primarily through 3D printing, digital modeling, fluorescent acrylic, and installation, I develop speculative organisms that exist between biological growth and industrial production. Rather than treating fabrication technology as a tool for precision and control, I use it to investigate mutation, accumulation, error, and excess.
A central innovation in my practice is the translation of biological processes into digitally fabricated forms. I draw from poisonous and psychoactive plants, fungal growth, decomposition, and invasive species, transforming their visual and structural characteristics through digital modeling. Printed forms become increasingly difficult to distinguish from organic structures: mechanical layers suggest growth rings, support structures resemble roots or mycelial networks, and accumulated material begins to behave like uncontrolled biological proliferation. The resulting sculptures question where the artificial ends and the organic begins.
I further extend this investigation through fluorescent acrylic vitrines that function as artificial habitats rather than conventional display cases. These structures combine the visual language of scientific laboratories, natural history collections, and institutional containment with highly saturated, synthetic environments. The sculptures become specimens, organisms, and failed experiments simultaneously. By making containment itself part of the sculpture, I explore the tension between humanity's desire to classify and control living systems and the persistent instability of those systems.
This approach positions digital fabrication as a speculative biological process rather than merely a manufacturing technique. My work proposes that technologies designed to replicate and control matter can also produce unexpected forms of growth. Through sculpture and installation, I use fabrication to imagine ecosystems in which technological systems become evolutionary agents—producing unfamiliar organisms that challenge conventional distinctions between nature and machine, specimen and environment, and control and mutation.
